Light The Night is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual evening fundraising walk campaign that celebrates and commemorates lives touched by cancer. Each fall, teams of friends, families and co-workers gather in cities and towns across North America to participate in this twilight walk. Walkers carry illuminated balloons-white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of a life lost. More than a walk, the evening includes music, food and family activities. Why Walk? More than 823,000 Americans have leukemia,lymphoma, and myeloma. Every five minutes someone new is diagnosed. Every ten minutes someone dies. As a nonprofit, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society relies on the generosity of of individuals,corporations, and foundations to fund its lifesaving research and provide patient support programs.
